So far I've been in Ecuador for 3 weeks. All in all, I'm doing well. CHALLENGES: homesickness, smog, noise, observing poverty, fear of being robbed, electricity rationing, intermittent tummy trouble, understanding the culture -- FAVORITES: low prices (bottle of water .30, a good lunch incl. beverage 2.50, bananas and mangoes .10/ lb, yes 10 cents!), my wonderful host family, Spanish classes, the mountains, the children of Ecuador, new friends, sightseeing, marvelous fruits
